This tea is absolutely beautiful. You really have to see it in person to admire it, but I hope this picture does the tea some justice. There are beautiful reddish-orange flower petals mixed with the silvery and white tea needles work well together. The smell of the dry leaf is more candy like than pomegranate, but either way, it smelled sweet, and reminded me of lollipops. I steeped this tea for 3 minutes in 180 degree water. Let’s watch the steep together now:

The liquor is a pale and clear golden yellow. And the tea smells like candy and pomegranate while steeping. It is a very delicious aroma, and really smells the entire room up.The taste is very light, with some underlying apple flavors, but I think I am unsure whether these are apple flavors, or just pomegranate, as to me the flavor is crisp with a hint of sour. The pomegranate flavor is very nice, and is not artificial tasting at all, which is a nice change of pace from other flavored teas I have tried throughout my tea journey. I have been consistently impressed with Arbor Teas’ teas after being given the opportunity to sample a number of their teas! I would recommend this tea if flavored teas are your thing!

Review of Jasmine Pearls from Canton Tea Co.

Brand: Canton Tea Co. Jasmine Pearls

Tea Rating: 90/100

Steep Time: 1-3 Minutes

Steep Temperature: approx. 170 Degrees

This is a green tea that is infused with the jasmine flower. An interesting thing about this tea is the leaves are the Silver Needle white tea harvest, but are processed as a green tea. Usually Jasmine teas are very perfume  like, where you have to be very careful when steeping them, because one mistake could lead to disaster. I didn’t find that with this tea at all. On first impression, the pearls were gorgeous, they looked soft and smelled divine. The pearls are much smaller than I have experienced in the past. The tea is not like some jasmine teas that can be excessively scented through oils or flavoring, which usually cause a highly floral taste and aroma, which is unsettling for me. Instead, Canton Tea Co. naturally scents the Silver Needle hand rolled pearls with Jasmine Blooms. The smell and taste of the Jasmine was authentic, and not artificial. The aroma of the tea was of Jasmine flowers, sweet and soft, calming me down and reminding me of a sleepy time tea. The color of the liquor was very light, as expected from the white tea leaves. The white tea is tasty, I could taste the creaminess and sweetness from the Silver Needle tea. I steeped this tea 4 times, and by the 4th steep, the Jasmine had slowly gone away, but the Silver Needle was still as tasty as the first steep. In addition to the Silver Needle flavors, the taste has sweet finish, leaving the Jasmine flower smell in the aroma and the sweetness from the Jasmine in the cup. I really enjoy this tea, and imagine that it would be amazing iced!
